Mustang Shelby GT500: The Chosen One
Most enthusiasts build their car for either show or track, maybe even both. Dan Neve built his Mustang Shelby GT500 for a different reason. Here’s his story: From the day I decided to purchase my 2010 Mustang GT500, I had already planned to use her to raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer. My mother had been diagnosed in November 2009.In January 2010 my wife, Linda, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
I planned to use the car to promote the cause for one year; it’s now going onto its 5th year. Along the way the car has transformed into the traffic stopper it is today and we now support both breast and prostate cancer research. I showcase the car and promote the cause in as many events across the country as possible (23 states so far!). The most recent event was SEMA 2014 where the GT500 took part in Ford’s Celebration of Mustangs display.
We’ve been successful at promoting the cause and have now become a full 501c3 Nonprofit Charity. With the help from companies like Seibon Carbon we can continue to deliver hope wherever we go! Recently we presented a check for $58,000 to fund cancer research, making a total of $60,000 for the year! Not bad for a guy that travels to car shows on the weekends!
Linda and I truly appreciate all of the support our build has received. We look forward to 2015 and hope to make an even larger impact in this fight. In the news: Marshfield Couple Donates $58,000 to Cancer Research Learn more about Dan Neve’s organization: Cruise for A Cause
