SEMA Sneak Peek: Hyundai Genesis Coupe JP Edition

Hyundai will have a strong presence at the 2013 SEMA Show next month, as evidenced by the barrage of concept and show cars from the automaker over the past few weeks. Now, Hyundai has revealed yet another custom Hyundai Genesis Coupe, this time assembled and styled by renowned tuner John Pangilinan.

Pangilinan applies his signature custom paint to the exterior of the Genesis Coupe JP Edition. The tuner calls the color Atlantic Blue, which appears to be a dark matte blue with a slightly metallic quality to it. Other exterior modifications include wide-body metal fender flares, custom graphics, carbon fiber side skirts and a rear lip from Seibon, an APR carbon fiber front splitter, and custom V-LED headlights.

To increase performance, Pangilinan went with entry-level modifications for cost-effective power gains, adding an AEM cold air intake and ARK Performance exhaust with “turbo” downpipe. Underpinning the Genesis Coupe are KW Variant 3 coil-overs and 19-inch mystic black MORR VS52 mono-forged wheels wrapped in 275/30 ZR19- and 315/25 ZR19-size Toyo Proxes T1R tires front and rear, respectively.

Inside, the JP Edition features Recaro Cross Sportster seats custom-upholstered in Katzkin suede. Takata Drift III harnesses hold the driver and passenger in place, while a GoPro Hero 3 video camera mounted to the custom harness bar can record any and all shenanigans. Topping off the build is a comprehensive audio system making use of an Alpine head unit, amp, and two 10-inch subwoofers.
